Germany: Fruit Logistica collects 110 tons of fruit and vegetables for charity

24 trucks full of fresh produce for the poor. That is the result of a fundraiser at this month’s Fruit Logistica trade fair in Berlin. Attendees and participating companies have managed to raise 110 tons of fruit and vegetables for charity. This is slightly less than last year, but it's great that the participants in the exhibition donate their products instead of throwing them away. President Sabine Werth is thrilled with the result. Approximately 300 volunteers have helped in the campaign.

Fruit Logistica counted 2543 exhibitors from 78 countries this year, all of whom presented their products, packaging and services to the public.
