Guatemala: Series of firsts at Fruit Logistica

This year's Agexport delegation from Guatemala featured, for the first time, a women's grower co-operative, Mujeres 4 Pinos, based in Santiago, Sacatepequez.

The women involved with the co-operative produce, amongst other things, sugar snap peas, courgettes and baby vegetables.

The co-operative was not the only début at the stand, as this year Agexport present the first Guatemalan production of Meyer lemons: a sweeter lemon that can be consumed like an orange.

A key part of the exhibition for Agexport was the presentation of Guatemala's Agritrade Expo and Conference 2013, taking place on the 14th and 15th of this month in Antigua, Guatemala. the event will be focusing on the European marketplace as the region represents the largest collective importer of fresh produce in the world.
