OP Tarulli organic seedless grapes five months a year

Italian producers' organization Tarulli group was formed in 2007, but since 1993 the company Tarulli has produced and sold organic grapes, offering several varieties that differ in color, taste, harvest times and the presence or absence of seeds, ensuring its customers seedless grapes for five consecutive months.

The Group has got a modern processing plant in Noicattaro (Bari - Apulia region - Italy), in an area particularly suited to the production of table grapes, where all the rules of self-control sanitation are met. The modern refrigeration cells allow a rapid cooling of the product in absolute respect of its quality.

Tarulli also offers countless possibilities for packaging responding to various demands from customers.

"Among the novelties of this year is that of conservation, which takes place in a fully consistent manner with the rules of organic farming, using a certified organic bag that can keep the freshness of grapes for a whole month. This way, we offer a fresh product even after a month of harvesting and can sell it overseas."

"With regard to our main destinations, we confirm our orientation towards exports, with about 75% of sales generated abroad. Among others we have reached a new market, Libya", says Marilena.

"Seedless grapes have been confirmed among the most interesting in the field of biological and certainly the new variety Regal is one of the most interesting on which to focus for future productions."

Regarding the last campaign, Marilena comments: "The relentless heat of the last summer (2012) has forced us to continuous irrigation substantially increasing production costs. Also increased the costs of harvesting and handling, of course, all to the detriment of the final bottom line, given that selling prices have remained stable."

"In addition - adds Marilena - the tendency of large retailers in the last two years is to sell more in promotion (with a discount price), a practice that can not be maintained from the beginning to the end of the campaign for many reasons, both in terms of quantity - the beginning and the end of the season are not high yelding - and quality, as well as in terms of average net final earnings. They should adopt a different policy that respects the nature of the fruit and vegetable production, difficult to adapt to the logic of the food industry."

"Among other new features we have planned, there are new packages with attractive images, such as cartoon and/or TV series characters and the possible inclusion of gadgets for children, hoping to interest the youngest group of consumers in a good and healthy eating habit. Already in 2012, we have made available in a special section of our web site, intended for our customers, the multiresidual analysis results of all our products", says Marilena.

The monitoring body of the biological system is IMC, but the Group Tarulli is also certified by Bio Suisse. GlobalGap and Tesco Nature's Choice Organic certificates ensure proper and ethical agricultural production. Tarulli group has obtained the most important quality certifications, BRC and IFS, and created a system of full traceability.

See you in Berlin, at the joint stand of the Apulia region, in Hall 4.2, Stand B-13. There will be present the firm's owner Antonio Tarulli.
