GP Graders AirJet™ Cherry Defect Grader on display at Fruit Logistica

The GP Graders AirJet™ Cherry Defect Grader –will be on display at Fruit Logistica next month.

The AirJet™ grader detects 80% of cherry defects as well as performing exceptional size and colour grading. The grader captures a total of 30 images of each cherry using high resolution cameras and a specifically designed and precisely positioned lighting system. The images are analysed by Ellips Truesort software to determine colour, size, shape and the existence of defects. Fast, gentle and accurate, the AirJet handles 700kg per lane per hour.

Most importantly, this past Chilean cherry season has shown how the AirJetTM is able to remove cherries with cracks (stem, side and nose), including fresh splits, something no other machine was able to achieve. This was a critical difference with the rain events which occurred in Chile last year.

The southern hemisphere cherry season is drawing to a close and the machine has won rave reviews by packing shed professionals in Chile and Australia this season and American and Europe in the northern season.

The clip shows Tim and Alison Jones from Wandin Valley Farms, on their final day of packing for the season talking about their AirJet™ grader. Alison talks about how the AirJet™ can detect defects not visible to the human eye like softness. Tim discusses the extreme accuracy of size and colour grading which has increased the consistency pack out.

A display AirJet™ Cherry Grader will be on display at the GP Graders stand in hall 6.1, stand A-03.
