Great atmosphere at intimate Southern Exposure

The Southeastern Produce Council show drew large crowds to Orlando’s Walt Disney Dolphin Resort between March 9 and 11. “It is a smaller and more intimate show,” said Stephen Cowan with Mucci Farms. “What is special about this show compared to other shows is the face-to-face time between retailers and growers,” he added. “We were out on the golf course with retailers on Thursday and saw them again at the gala dinner on Friday night. The Saturday exhibition is just part of the three-day event."

“This show is a great opportunity to deepen relationships with buyers,” mentioned Kim Flores with Seald Sweet International. It is highly attended by retail and food service. “Many attendees come from colder weather and who doesn’t want to spend a few days in the sun in March? It is a nice escape for those who live in parts of the US and Canada that still have snow on the ground.”

Although the show has grown significantly over the years, it is still intimate. The booths all have the same size and it is easy to get around. Plenty of beer and wine was available for those who were thirsty or just looking for a relaxing way to spend the afternoon. Some companies were walking the show instead of exhibiting. Not by choice, but simply because they are on the waiting list to become an exhibitor.
