Valencia: citrus sector largest export sector in spite of crisis

Tholen – In spite of the crisis in the citrus sector, the citrus industry leads the ranking list as the major export sector amongst all. The sales abroad increased with 12,1% in January, to a total of 299 mln. euro, which is above the value of the Ford factory in Almussafes, which saw its export turnover decrease with 13% to 247 mln. euro. There is a shortage of 117 mln. on the trade balance, as the total exports amounted 1633 mln. euro and imports amounted 1751 mln. euro. The coverage amounts 93,3% however, which is 20 procent points above the national average.
