UK: Packaging Automation offers perfect solution for innovative new food pack
Packaging Automation Ltd equipment has been selected to help launch an innovative, ground breaking new product by an Australian company. After extensive research into the food tray sealing market, and considering equipment from seven other multinational companies, Packaging Automation's PA182 MAP-F machine was chosen by Eco Smart Technologies Pty Ltd, based in New South Wales.
Eco Smart Technologies was looking for a tray sealing machine to help bring its exciting new patented "Build-a-Platter" concept to market quickly and efficiency. This unique design consists of modular sealed and gas flushed food packages that interlock to form combination platters.
The concept, which is being targeted at food manufacturers of deli meats and salads supplying to supermarkets and caterers, is suitable for a wide range of products including dips, pre-packed cheese, confectionery, crudités, fresh produce and fruit.
Les Knebl, CEO and managing director of Eco Smart Technologies said: "We carried out extensive research prior to our selection of the PA machine which we found through their Australian agent MPI.
None of the other companies we looked at could match the exacting requirements, efficiency and flexibility we needed for this groundbreaking product. We felt the PA machine offered the perfect solution for our complex design requirement - in particular, the ability to pre-cut the top film to prevent it from covering the interlocking segments as well as offering modified atmosphere packaging.
In addition to the PA182's design - which Mr Knebl described at "outstanding" - the service received was also first class, with delivery on time and on budget. He added: "The machine's ease of use, fast changeovers and easy cleaning completed our requirements met by Packaging Automation. I would certainly recommend this company and its equipment without hesitation."
The semiautomatic hand turned, rotary table machine PA182 tray sealer is in extensive use worldwide and is being used for a wide range of food and non food products. Amongst the features that have made it such a popular choice are its reliability and robust construction. It is renowned for its versatility, ease of operation and simplicity of film feed. MPI Australia has been supplying packaging solutions to the food industry for 44 years and has a very good reputation for its strong technical base and after sales support.
Commenting on this latest success in Australia since the company appointed MPI as agents, Packaging Automation's sales manager Neil Ashton said: "This is an exciting new concept and we're delighted that Packaging Automation's equipment has been chosen to help launch it. A combination of top quality, flexible equipment and the best service on the market has helped us win another new customer against extensive competition."
