Export dollar bananas to EU increased with 10,2% in 2006

Tholen - According to figures of Eurostat, the banana exports from Latin American countries to the EU increased with 10,2% in 2006, with a total volume of 3.265.000 MT. Only Honduras noted an export decrease of 21%, but the remaining countries realised export increases. The exports from Guatemala increased with 808%, Peru with 96,7%, Brazil with 54%, Venezuela with 16%, Panama with 10,2%, Colombia with 6,7% and Ecuador with 3%. Panama, Nicaragua and Honduras chose to not participate in the monitoring of the EU, however.
