Brazil successfully exports organic produce

Tholen – The Brazilian government by means of the Ministry of Agricultural Development (Ministério do Desenvolvimento Agrário-MDS), announced that the campaign between August 2006 and January 2007 generated exports approximately of 9500 tons of organic produce.

The generation of employment and additional rents for Brazilian farmers are the basis of the governmental policy to promote organic production. Last week a group of 13 representatives of different producers associations and cooperatives exhibited their products in the biggest fair of organic production worldwide, the BioFach in Nürnberg-Germany.
