Colle D'Oro extends product assortment
introducing fennel, cherry and vine tomatoes at Fruit Logistica 2007

Rome – The Italian agricultural firm Colle D'Oro (related FP article) will be present at Fruit Logistica within the stand of the Sicilian region. Colle D'Oro will present its vegetable production, amongst which zucchini, fennel, cherry tomatoes, vine tomatoes, aubergines and carrots.

Sales manager Carmelo Calabrese explains: "We have introduced fennel, cherry tomatoes and vine tomatoes to extend our offer. Currently we provide fennel in 7 kg boxes or in 500 gr flow pack. Our customers are mainly German distributors and stores. With regard to cherry tomatoes, we pack it into 500 gr or 1 kg baskets and we sell it in Italy, Germany and Austria. Packaging for vine tomatoes, which we provide to Italian and German distributors, can vary from basket (1 kg) to boxes 30x40 or 40x60 cm."

According to Carmelo, exceptional temperate Italian winter has produced effects in Sicily as well, where some cultivars are showing some precocious ripening. "Growth anticipation effects are mainly evident in carrots", he says.
