Ecuador: banana growers want exports nationalised

Tholen - Banana growers from El Oro, united in the association ABO, have proposed that the government might nationalise all agricultural imports and exports of the country. This way the returns for growers should be improved, to the opinion of ABO growers. By creating a special organism that would manage this nationalisation on behalf of the government, this transition should be regulated. This way, the chaos in the business of banana production and exports could be ‘corrected’.
