Argentina: export of pulse and vegetables rises 17%

Tholen - The Argentine exports of fresh vegetables and pulse vegetables from January till November 2005 amounted 528.599 MT, with a value of $ 193,7 mln. This represents an increase of 17% in foreign currency, compared to the same period in 2004, when exports amounted 528.040 MT and $ 165,1 mln.

Of this total the exports of bulb crops such as onions and garlic amounted 276.124 MT at $ 85,9 mln. The share of onions counted 203.242 MT for $ 29,1mln. and they were mostly destined for Brazil, Belgium, Paraguay, Spain and France. The share of garlic amounted $ 56,8 mln. and was mostly destined for Brazil, France, the US and Spain. This garlic is mostly proceeding from Mendoza, San Juan and Buenos Aires.

The exports of pulse crops amounted 203.094 MT for $ 98,6 mln.
