LCL expands into Egypt

Lauritzen Cool Logistics (LCL) is the specialised logistics subsidiary of world-known reefer vessel owner and operator NYKLauritzenCool. It provides customized multi-modal and multi-destination door-to-door logistic services for perishables and reefer cargo, with highest professional standards of attention to every detail all along the cold chain.

After having  successfully established itself  in major producing and consuming areas such as Latin America, South Africa, North Europe and the USA, LCL started its expansion in the Mediterranean region in January 2005 by opening LCL Iberia in Valencia.

LCL Mediterranean has been established as a regional holding company for the  development of the LCL network of subsidiary companies, partnerships and agencies  around the Mediterranean, North Africa, Black Sea, Caucasus  and Red Sea.

LCL is pleased to announce the opening of LCL Egypt, a joint venture between LCL Mediterranean and the Egyptian-French shipping agency company WORMS A.C.S., headquartered in Alexandria with offices throughout the country.
LCL Egypt is a high quality integrated perishable and reefer logistics service provider offering a combination of local presence, staff experience and expertise, together with the support of the LCL worldwide office networks, connections, and overall expertise.  LCL Egypt will be truly “glocal”.

LCL Egypt will offer a number of services and advantages to its customers in a spirit of partnership :

• Connecting exporters or importers of perishable and reefer cargo with customers and suppliers in Europe, the Mediterranean, North, Central and South America, Southern Africa, and the Far East.
• LCL Egypt and its worldwide office network partners will provide all required pre- or post-shipment logistic services from production site to point of delivery to the receiver, such as trucking, gensets, clearing etc.
• The inland distribution network in Europe and USA can offer trucking, cross docking, groupage and distribution services to receivers all over Europe and North America
• The expertise and know how accumulated within LCL and its parent companies during decades of reefer market leadership in areas like cargo quality control, cargo handling techniques, refrigeration technology, in transit cold treatment, Controlled Atmosphere, etc are  cornerstones in the service concept offered by the LCL offices
