Produce exports from Canary Islands recover

Tholen - The exports of bananas from the Canary Islands have shown an increase again, for the first time since September 2004. Since December 2005 the exports of bananas, tomatoes and other produce articles have improved, while the price levels have increased compared to last year also. The volume of tomato exports have been significantly higher during the first five months of the season 2005/2006 than during the same period of the previous year. These trends appear from an analysis of the indices of Economic Affairs.
