The main production areas are El Sharkia (31%), El-Ismailia (23%), and Giza (17%). The production season is from end of July to December. The export period is usually from mid August to mid December.
This market is very important and prosperous for the Egyptian mango, especially due to its closeness and production period.
Egypt has several advantages including availability of labor, land extension, and variable climatic conditions. Egypt also has an advantage compared to other countries in terms of production time, since mango is produced mostly in August, September and October, which is late compared to Mexico and relatively early compared to Brazil, which starts its exports in late October.
