Alexport builds on the future

Alexport B.V. has decided to leave Barendrecht in 2007/2008. Because of the big growth of the activities, the actual distribution centre at the Handelscentrum and the offices at the Gebroken Meeldijk in Barendrecht are not sufficient anymore. At this moment there is no view on a suitable location in Barendrecht or Ridderkerk where Alexport BV can continue in the future. Therefore Alexport BV has decided to move their activities somewhere else.

Although the licences are not completed yet, Alexport BV is working hard on a design for a new ultramodern distribution centre with offices on a parcel of 17000 m2. The new premises will be build aside the A15 highway at Alblasserdam, on the industrial site Nieuwland. This is only 10 minutes drive from the old location in Barendrecht and is favourable regarding traffic jams.

The new building will offer all facilities to cover the future growth. The fact Alexport BV says goodbye to Barendrecht is pityful. But it is not an obstacle for the continuity, since Alexport BV is focussing on own import. This contrary to the initial phase of the company, when Alexport BV was still dependent on the purchase in Barendrecht.

Alexport BV will start building in Alblasserdam in 2007.
