Canary Islands vigilant of tomato diseases

Tholen - The rains of the past weeks, the low temperatures and the winds will not be without effect on the quality and production of tomatoes on the Canary Islands. Growers are content with the fact that water reserves are now replenished, but on the other hand they do not want to see any danger threatening their crops.

Juan Félix, agricultural technician with the cooperation Coagrisan reported that the low temperatures and clouded days will not only reduce the quality of the tomatoes, but also increase the chance on disease occurrence. Growers are to keep their plantations clean and herb free and should apply double doors at all entrances to greenhouses, to keep out white fly, which has turned into enemy number one.
