Venezuela: Heinz demands an explanation for confiscation
Tholen - The US multinational Heinz demands an explanation from the Venezualan government about the confiscation of a tomato factory in the state of Monagas. Heinz wants to hear the motives of the government and an official statement, as the company has not issued any official notice to the company thusfar. Heinz is assuming the government will respect every lawful directive in every act it takes.
Heinz says to be open to dialogue with the Venezueland goverment and declares that market conditions were the reason for the cease of activities in the factory and the later attempt to sell it. According to the governor of the state Monagas there are some interested buyers from Italy.
