Spain: protection agricultural area by draining riverbed

Den Bosch – De Council of El Ejido (Spanish Almeria) invested more than 55.000 euros on a project to build a riverbed that will serve as draining for the way known as Camino de Roquetas. This way cannot be used often due to frequent problems with flood from rain.

The works consisted in building a draining riverbed through a 2 meter channel. Thanks to this channel, 8,4 m 3 per second can be evacuated. The agriculturists will benefit from the works and an area of more then 300 hectares will be protected.
